Mathematics Education

Objectives

1. We believe that God creates Mathematics, and therefore we expect to find evidence of God’s work in Mathematics. Teachers would help students develop a positive attitude towards Mathematics learning and an appreciation of the aesthetic nature and cultural aspects of Mathematics.
2. In the process of learning Mathematics, we would like to develop students the ability to think critically, to conceptualize, investigate and reason mathematically, and to use Mathematics to solve problems in daily life as well as in mathematical contexts and other disciplines.
3. We would like to help students develop number sense, symbol sense, spatial sense, measurement sense and the capacity to appreciate structures and patterns.
4. We would like to provide students with mathematical tools for learning other subjects as well as their personal development.
5. We would like to help students develop the ability to communicate with others and express their views in a logical manner.
