The Hong Kong Joint Interact Council would like to invite our School Supervisor, teachers and a small group of MKP students to join their New Year Gathering. The details are as follows:

Such a rewarding activity at Hong Kong Crossroads! We take a role in the process from coffee growing to coffee retailing. Stimulating discussion invites all to look for alternatives.Now we know the situation of coffee growers, exporters, importers, roasters and retailers much better than before. We understand the concept of FAIRTRADE more and we are ready to spread the message to others.
2011-12-21The Struggle For Survival (Paper Bag Simulation)
Participants try to earn enough to survive by making paper bags out of newspaper and home made glue. They must earn enough to pay for rent, food, sanitation, medical needs and, if they are fortunate, education. Those that cannot make it end up in the hands of a loan shark. This game throws participants into the hopelessness and intricacy of the poverty web.

2011-12-19Red Cross Health Check Service (15/12/2011)
Red Cross members provided health check service for all Makopanians. Health check items include blood pressure test, body fat test and height measurement. We also arouse students' awareness about the importance of mental,physical and social health through a variety of games.

International church visit: St. Andrew’s Church Family Services and Musical Play. The message brings out the theme of Christmas “Presence”- The Presence of Jesus. Students found this experience a valuable one for this is not only a regular Christmas service but also a unique cultural experience for them.

Hooray! Today's Christmas English Day was a success! Christmas is a time to love and to have fun! 3B students prepared loads of clever, funny and meaningful game stalls for Makopanians today. Students enjoyed getting into it and we all had a wonderful afternoon.

2011-12-142nd Workshop - 'Growing Together’ Pilot Project (13/12/2011)
Yesterday, two expert gardeners, David and Bing, visited our students and teachers again. They conducted the second workshop of the organic planting project. Around 30 students and teachers joined the workship and they learnt how to keep their plants healthy. With the help of the gardeners, they harvested some of their plants in the micro-garden at the school campus too!

2011-12-05Geography Day (2/12/2011)
Six game stalls were set up during Geography Day for our students to learn about some Geography knowledge like the seven continents and four oceans, common conventional signs, landforms and contour maps. Students also have a lot of fun practising the skills of direction and scale and distance. All participants were motivated to use English to interact with the well-trained helpers. Over 200 students were present at the hall at lunchtime. The event was a great success.

Today is our History Day! Thanks to our helpers, we set up different game stalls for participants to use English outside classroom and learn more about Ancient Egypt as well as Ancient Greece. The event was a great success. Over 120 students joined the English activities at the hall during lunchtime. They not only enjoyed the games, but also knew much more about the lives of Ancient Egyptians and Ancient Greeks!
